I will be 4 mts out on the 1st...
And I have started losing hair w/ yesterday it being significant( almost passed out when I saw what amounted to a "clump" of hair in my hands)
As I already have thin, fine hair I'm hoping that this phase doesn't
Last long...hang in there!!!

best thing is to cut your hair short , , some say higher protein helps others say b vitamins my nut says nothing helps , it will grow back in a few months

The loss will stop in a few months, but it'll slow down before then.  No, nothing you can do to minimize the loss.  What you're losing today really died 4 months ago and is just now being pushed out by new growth.  And that's the good news - you have new growth coming in, but it takes awhile to see it.

Popular recommendations are to take biotin and a nioxin shampoo/conditioner.  Again, won't help with the loss, but will help promote the new growth.

Yeah..mine started last week about 3 months out. I have very fine, thin hair to begin with. I've done the protein thing all along, taken Biotin, Omega 3, CoQ10 and used collegen and biotin shampoo...and yet it falls! I try to focus on the good thing that along with it I have shed 75 pounds.

I wish there was a miracle cure but I think we're out of luck! "-)

I'm nine months out today.  My hair loss has slowed, but hasn't quite stopped.  Never tried biotin, but rather have been keeping protein high and have been taking my vitamins and supplements faithfully.

Mine fell out for about a month, heavy at first then slowed to a crawl and stop.  Honestly, no one but me noticed, and my hair was thinner from a major surgery two years ago.  I know its alarming, keep breathing, it is only hair, it will grow back.  Eat your protein.

I was worried lots of it would fall out but it's about the same or less than when I had my two c-sections. No one even noticed it then and don't think anyone will notice it now. :)

My doctor told me to take 50mg of zinc and I also take Biotin.

Mine fell from months 4 - 8, but worst in 4 and 5.

Nothing you can do to stop it.  Take biotin to help the regrowth and just ride it out.:)

It's a natural part of the sleeve experience. It varies for everyone, but I noticed my hair loss most around months 5-6. It lasted a month and a half or so. Now I have a bunch of baby hairs. Haha! Don't worry. As others have said, there probably isn't much you can do about it. However, I took zinc every 3rd day (surgeon's recommendation) and I take biotin daily. I don't know if it helped, but I figured it wouldn't hurt. Most importantly, really stay on top of taking your vitamins and supplements and getting enough protein. The more deficient your body is in the vitamins and nutrients it needs, the more likely your hair is to fall out. Good luck with everything! :)
