I will be sleeved on Sept 10 after band removal. YAY.

I know I have a class to take but not till the 3rd. Wondering what kind of vitamins everyone took?

and did you have to have liquid, or chewable? Or could you take regular tablets?

Thanks,

Early out you will want gummies or chewables. But keep in mind chewables typically do not have the same levels of vitamins as a swallow table or capsule. I have been doing some research and the brand called Rainbow Light seem to have quite a bit of bang for the buck.

I have tried a few liquids, Wellesse seems to be the best, but they all pretty much taste like ass.

Started with Centrum chewables then switch to Flintstones complete (non-gummy version).  Be careful is you go this route, you need the exact version I listed.  Each company sells over versions that don't have to same vitamins. You specifically need one with 100% iron unless otherwise instructed.

Both of these were on the surgeon's list and they have pretty much the same vitamins.  The Centrum chewables had a few extra vitamins but they were the more exotic ones and not items that needed much concern.

The Flintstones where cheaper, but that's not why I switched.  I found the Flintstones easier to find on the shelves so I decided to switch once the Centrum ran out.  My friend, who also had surgery, says Walmart sells a knock off store brand of the same thing that costs 1/2 as much.  I didn't find price a real barrier, and since I don't get to Walmart as much, I opted to stick with the name brand version.

Citrical for the calcium and whatever was there for the B-12 and D-3.

I never really did supplements. I used to buy lots and would take a day or two. Then they sit in the cupboard. I have had A+ blood work from the beginning. I did get a little low on the potassium when on TPN...but, that is when I was being fed by tubes!

I take bariactric chewable vitamins per my surgeon's instructions. I understand they are easier to digest and have all the supplements necessary for Bariatric patients. Would to take tablets again in the future.

I started on Wellesse liquid vitamins (multi-vitamin, calcium, and iron) for about six weeks after surgery. Then I switched to Trader Joe's High Potency chewable multi-vitamins, on the advice of vets here. I have two of those every day.

I also take a slow-release calcium pill daily and supplement with additional B-12, zinc, and K-2.

Congratulations on your surgery date.

The vitamins/minerals supplements that I'm taking are "Flintstones Complete Chewable Tablets (I take two chewables tablets a day in the evening)", "Nature Made B-12 Vitamin 500 mcg (I take one tablet a day in the evening)", "Nature Made Iron 65 mg Equivalent to 325 mg Ferrous Sulfate (I take two tablets a day in the evening)", "Nature Made Chewable C Vitamin 500 mg (I take one chewable table a day in the evening time)". Some I take are chewables and the others are regular tablets. Every doctor and nutritionist is different when it comes to the supplements and which weight loss surgery you had done. I hope this helps you out.
