Well, I don't make too many post on here, I just read a lot of what everyone else post. now that it has been one year since my surgery, I feel that I need to make a post.

I had surgery on 8/31/2012, at that time I weighed 422 pounds. I was in pretty good health for a man that overweight, as healthy as a man can be at that weight. through out this year I have had a lot of success. I feel very blessed. I really didn't have any kind of problems or complications. I think that the success that you have has a lot to do with your mind set! I have been very determined. I am currently as of this morning 178.6 pounds.

Now, for the next phase, I am really scared that I will lose too much weight. I am still in losing mode, and I am afraid that if I try to add ANYTHING, that I will revert to my old ways. Has anyone else had this problem? how did you deal with it?

Finally, thanks to everyone on this site that post. The ones that post success and the ones that post problems/questions. Like I said before, I don't post much, but I read much, and it has been a BIG help to me. If you are new to this, just starting your journey, or are a veteran, good luck to you and your plan. The only advise that I can give you is to make sure you have your mind set to do what you want to do, and that you have a GREAT support system.

Wow, Scotty.  Thanks for posting.  By my calculation you are down over 240 pounds in a year.  That is wonderful.  I bet you feel so much healthier and more energetic.  You are an inspiration to us all.

Congratulations on your success. At this point , I would call your NUT,and ask for a calorie guide for maintenance if you are at goal. You will be advised how to do this safely. I too wonder how that will be for me but I am a long way off from that point. You can see from here how the veterans do it. Good luck!

congratulations! What you've accomplished this past year is amazing! I hope you are overjoyed and proud of yourself. It took a lot of hard work and dedication to lose over 200 pounds!

Do you want to lose anymore weight? If not, start by adding a 100 calories a day for a week. If you're still losing add 100 more the next week and so on until you find your maintenance calorie range.

Tip: add in only healthy fats and meats. I made the mistake of letting some "bad" carbs back in early in maintenance and it proved to be very problematic for me.
