hi guys.

i got sleeved on 7/30. up until a few days ago, i really had no nausea at all. when i would get full, i would get hiccups. that was my full signal. but a few days ago, i started getting slightly nauseated after a few bites and im thinking that's now my full signal. has anyone experienced this? well. let me add, i get the hiccups too still.

it seems our bodies keep changing some time out. This week, at 13 weeks out, my body's trick is to feel nauseous when I drink a protein shake. Previously tolerated them fine. It seems to be better if I slow waaaaaay down. Perhaps this would work for you, too? Are you taking small bites, too? Waiting before/after drinking?

I've started doing the exact same thing, I'm about 5 1/2 weeks out & have usually done a hiccup after several bites to let me know when to stop. This week it's been a little nausea & the hiccup - wonder what's up? I upped my exercise & protein (but not fluids) doc out me on Iron & as you can imagine - almost completely backed up. Had to take Milk of Mag and a Dulcolax & deal with the pain. I've been drilling the fluids the last few days to avoid that ever happening again! So my nausea may be my body avoiding putting anything else in there til Im straightened out

There was a period of weeks when the thought of eating anything would make me queasey.  It lasted about a month, and thank goodness, finally stopped.  For me, it was mostly before I started eating, rather than a "full" signal.  My full signal is a runny nose, or sometimes feeling some discomfort at the thought of swallowing another bite.

best wishes,

Carol

It's entirely possible that you've got some reflux going on. Do you take a PPI or something like Pepcid in your plan? When my surgeon switched me from Pepcid to Calcium Citrate, I ended up needing to add a PPI because I was having nausea after just a few bites of food. Went in for a follow-up and my surgeon said it was probably reflux. The PPI knocked it out. Don't live with this if you don't have to. Call your surgeon and talk to his/her nurse at the very least. Good luck, hon.

I am 3 months out today and when i eat something that is too spicy , too sweet or fatty I get nauseated so it is your tummy telling you it may not like that food and you can try it again later .
