So I weighed myself this morning and it the scale said I gained THREE POUNDS?!?! WTH is tha about?  I have been kinda worried that I am not familiar with the sensations I feel sometimes.  I don't want to feel full so I guess that's why I don't feel restriction because I stop before I can feel it but I do t want to initially lose weight and then start right back gaining!!  I'm nervous a little.  I need to measure everything and I don't really know exactly how much I should be consuming!  Any thoughts?

When did you have surgery?

My weight can jump a few pounds in a day without any reasonable explanation.  So try not to let it bother you and  keep your eye on the big picture.

For food, I weigh 3  to 3.2 ounces of meat per meal, and then add an ounce or so of veggies.  I couldn't eat 3 ounces until I was about 3 months out, so you may want to start with less.

I think the best way to figure it out is to start with a good guess and see what your tummy will hold, and then how many calories you can take per meal and still meet your plan.

Good luck,

Carol

Unless I'm missing something, I'm thinking there's not enough information to go on here.

The stock answer is usually water retention which could be further complicated by TOM issues.  But not knowing where you're on on the timeline it's hard to put a full perspective on it.

I know during my last stall I jumped up 2 lbs from my low even though I was eating the same calories and drinking the same amount of water.  The stall actually broke shortly after I picked up those 2 lbs and then I lost a bunch more.

Is there any chance you changed medications (like for BP or something) during this time? That can have an impact also.

So true with the meds...when my doc took out the water pill portion of my BP meds, I gained I think 5 lbs in a day or two...I lost it again within a week or so, but that can definitely cause it
