Allergic to Whey - Need Soy Protein Drink Suggestions
whey, meaning milk/lactose?? I am getting 'sensitive' to lactose, and the only protein drink I've found without lactose/milk is from GNC, Lean Shake. Hopefully others will chime in with other brands, suggestions. all the powders I have that I mixed with almond milk or soy milk, seem to have whey in them also.
good luck!

Hi Sophie, yes, I guess I've become lactose intolerant. Funny thing is I drink milk, or chocolate milk once in a while, and I hadn't noticed much of a difference in how I felt afterwards. Maybe a little mucus formation in my throat, but nothing like what happened when I drank some whey isolate protein drink samples last weekend. My throat and nose became loaded with mucus, and my throat kept itching, making me cough a lot. It lasted almost two days. Needless to say, I was surprised, since I don't seem to notice a (huge) difference when I drink milk, although I don't drink milk very often.
I've experienced the same thing. I now only use Synthrax Nectars powders. Lactose free.

Here's a listing on mybariatricpantry.com that lists ingredients for my favorite - Vanilla Bean Torte. I add it to soy milk with some chai tea ice cubes (YUMMY!!!) That one does have sucralose int it, but the site lists ingredients for others as well.

You can get this brand a little cheaper at The Vitamin Shoppe or on Amazon (where I order from), but that link didn't list ingredients.

So are you Lactose intolerant, or you you have a problem with whey? Whey contains (small amounts of) lactose, but lactose does not contain whey. Also, there is such a thing as lactose-free or "ultra purified" whey. I think you should isolate which is giving you trouble before you decide on a powder to try.
