An issue I'm having

I am feeling like I'm starving each night!  I wish I was one of those people that had absolutely no appetite!  I'm gonna talk to me doctor tomorrow and see if I need a PPI because I haven't been on one.  I hate the fact I'm worried about gaining and it's on my mind 95% of the day.  I guess I'm scared of failing but I'm gonna try my best.  It's so frustrating because things come so naturally to some people and then there are those of us who aren't so lucky.  Ready for my morning walk.  Feel like I need to exercise to feel better.

I have the same issue.  The PPI helps, but not much, it just keeps the burps away!  I take it once a day in the morning, but forget at night, and then I'm starving and burping all over the place.  I started soft foods in Week 2, and they go right through me.

I really want to call the nutritionist and see if I can start adding in solids, but I like the weight lose results so I don't want to advance to solids just yet.  But this hunger and burping is driving me insane

Hi!

Try not to worry, your weight loss will happen all in good time.......I do understand your frustration though.  I have bouts of hunger like that too, the best thing is to drink some water.  I applaud you on your first line of defense being to exercise!  Everything will be good, just helps you to become patient.  Best wishes!

One thing I did to curb the snacking in the evening, is I shifted my meals so I have Breakfast at about  10AM, Lunch at 3pm and dinner at 7 to 8 pm.  Since I head for bed around 10PM, there isn't much time after dinner to snack.  Since I don't get hungry in the mornings, this has helped immensely.

Good luck with the hunger monster.  I hope the ppi helps.

Herbal tea right before bed helped me a bit - Sleepytime is my favorite!

In my experience, if my stomach is rumbling and I felt hungry it was generally because I didn't take my PPI.  You are still very recently out of surgery and your stomach is still healing.  Keep up on your protein and water and check signs for head hunger.

Good luck to you!

I'm a year out and I still take a PPI in the morning and evening, not by doctor's orders but because that is what makes me most comfortable.  If I don't take the PPI my stomach gurgles like crazy loud and I'm burping a lot too!  Wonder why that is?  Must have something to do with stomach acid.

band to sleeve revision and loving life!

You do you, and I'll do me

PPI helped me! I am 10 months post op and still take 1. I switched from omeprazole to lansoprazole early out and it worked better for me.

For me, like others mentioned drinking a warm drink helps. Still this far out and warm drinks feel better in the tummy then cold. I make my unjury chocolate splendor warmed (with unsweetened almond coconut milk and water) and Unjury chicken soup. These are my favorites. Otherwise I drink decaf tea/coffee.

You might be experiencing head hunger, it is possible. Try to drink more and see if that helps.
