Tailbone and sitz bones pain - OUCH

I'd read about the tailbone pain on OH a long ago and thought, "surely that won't happen to me." But I can finally say that I am in agony from tailbone pain. With my recent leg surgery, I've had to spend a lot of time sitting with my leg elevated this week, and that is putting so much pressure on my tailbone. And then when I sit up straighter, the bones in the bottom of my butt - sitz bones, I believe they are called - they hurt like hell. I wasn't expecting that one. The pain in my ass is seriously worse than the pain from the surgery!

So is there any solution besides one of those funny shaped cushions people sit on for hemorrhoids? I'll sit on one at home, but it might be a little embarrassing at work.

Tomorrow I need to get my boyfriend to take me to Walmart, where I will ride around on a motorized cart collecting necessities such as a butt cushion, lifts to make my shoe as tall as my walking boot, and some sort of knee high socks to wear under the walking boot. And some food to eat, I suppose. Sounds like a hot date, right??

The only thing my doctor told me to do was get a cushion to sit on and make sure I shift my weight every 30 minutes. It does go away after awhile. Enjoy the go carts at walmart, hope you get one that is fully charged, lol.

Hahaha, should be interesting. Never had to use the go carts before, fortunately.

Holy hell, that sounds awful! Good for her for losing almost 200 lbs though. I hope she has a speedy recovery.

There are a number of gel filled pillows/seats sold for on the car seat......not funny shaped at all so would not look weird at work...give something like that a try !! good luck!  and I know what you mean, my butt never hurt before either.
