Shouting from the Rooftops, "I'm NORMAL!"

It finally freakin happened. I am now within the normal range t of the BMI chart. Never, EVER, when I began this journey, did I think this was possible.

I'm 6 lbs below goal and about four from my sorta half-hearted adjusted goal. I've been struggling a lot lately with the question of, " When will it be enough?" Truth is, I'm not sure. I'm 5'6" tall and now weigh 154. My original goal was 160. I wear a size 6 very comfortably, and mostly smalls in tops. Can't really imagine being a size 4, but also, 154 lbs still sounds like a lot to me.

When I was a teen, I attended (yes, me and my chubby self) a modeling and finishing school. They wanted me to be around 127lbs! That seems a bit unrealistic to me...but...I dunno.

What do y'all think?

Isn't it GREAT?!?  I just got into the normal range myself (although it took a nasty stomach bug to push me down that low - ha!).

I would say that obtaining the weight we were when we were teenagers is not realistic.  Our bodies weren't fully developed or had matured all the way.  If you've been heavy for any period of time your bones have actually gotten heavier to accommodate the excess weight.  So it just stands to reason that you will naturally weigh a bit more as an adult, even if you get super fit.

Why not split the difference and see how 150 feels?  And then 145?

Congratulations on all your success!!

Congratulations!

IMHO it sounds like you want to lose a little more, so I would recommend do it now.  You are still in a weight loss mode mindset so it will be easier to continue that then it will be to revert back.  Mind you, not that reverting back is that difficult- just a little harder thant continuing the mojo you already have going.

Congrats on being normal!! I'd say lose all that you want to now; you can always gain a little if you decide you're too small. Size 6 and small tops sounds pretty small. I bet you don't have much left to lose. Congrats on your success!

Congratulations! Very, very cool indeed. I think the advice from the others e.g. do it while you have the mojo is spot on.

Get it, girl! Hopefully, in a day or two, I'll be shouting that I'm just "overweight" and no longer obese!

First, CONGRATULATIONS!

We have a lot in common.  I was 5'6" and attended a modeling and finishing school with my chubby self and yep, they wanted me at 127 too. I got to 132 and ended up in the hospital and called anorexic.  I just can't get to "normal"  I make it with in a few pounds and than up I go again.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.
