Working From Home and Going Back to Work?

I work from home for amazon.com and am wondering what time frame I will need off work. When I attempted to have the surgery back in 2012 I was back working 3 days later. I know that it will be different because I will be tired and whatnot, but if you worked from home and just sat at a desk taking phone calls, when do you think you would have been OK to go back to work?

I was answering emails and doing basic stuff the day after surgery.  I could have been back in the office in about 4 days with tylenol and Sweatpants

If you are working from home then I would say that you could go back to work the day you are released.  I took the week of my surgery off and came back to work that Monday.  I will admit that I was very fatigued but with saying that, I also was anemic.

I work from home and took two weeks.  At about a week out I probably could have started working some.  I was still getting pretty tired by afternoon though.  YMMV.

I returned to work in my home office after a week, but took lunch time naps and breaks for walks every hour to prevent clots. I can't imagine having the energy to deal with an unending stream of phone calls. Most of us go through a hormonal swing after surgery that can last weeks or even a couple of months. You will be irritable and occasionally  want to strangle stupid people. It would be good if you can watch out for these changes and come up with strategies to cope on tough days.

well that's great! hopefully the zoloft i take for generalized anxiety will help curb some of the strangling i'll want to do LOL
