Can tattoos disguise bat wings?

So I've wanted half sleeve tattoos (and several other tattoos) for a LONG time. And I feel like I have to wait till I get to goal and see how bad my arms look in case they are so bad that I need PS. And it's not like I'd get PS right away...so it's a long wait till I get my tats, especially if my bat wings are bad. PS on my arms is not very likely (lower body is another story).

But I had the thought the other day - what if I wait till I reach goal, or close anyway, then get my half sleeves - is there a chance they will actually camouflage/distract from the bat wings? Could tattoos be an option INSTEAD of PS?

And that makes me wonder if tats on other parts of my body might camouflage other unsightly parts (not anything really bad like my belly/ass/hips/upper thighs, of course).

What are all your thoughts on this?

Hi Linzee. I have been thinking about getting another one. I got my first tat when I was 35 and things were a bit more firm... Unfortunately now, the lioness' face is a bit longer than it was originally; started out with a round face LOL.

Might work nicely on arms though, never thought about that. Since arms aren't hanging, per-se, half sleeves might look great!

Hahaha, I got my lioness at 21. She's on my upper back, so fortunately she's remained unchanged except for fading.

my thought is it is just going to lookalike a bigger bat so to speak, putting a rat there is going to call attention to. That area that might.  Not. Get. Noticed without the tat.

i would. Be afraid it. Would just be a big bat wing....decorated.

Yeah, that's a good point. I am just thinking if I put some beautiful art on there (which I plan to do someday regardless), it might actually distract from the loose skin. Like, people will notice the tat instead of the skin.

Sweetie-pie.  I suggest you wait until you  are at goal, whatever that may be.  See what your arms look like then.  I would imagine that the best canvas to paint a picture on is the one that is original to the frame- that means, "tat" the skin you will be living with the rest of your life-  if I were to paint a picture on canvas and then take it off its stretchers and drape the canvas over smaller stretchers it would change the art.  Ya know what I mean....?   As far as using tats to conceal scaring, I saw an article and pictures of women who used tattooing to cover mastectomy scars...absolulutly beautiful...powerfully beautiful...a badge of honor, as it were.

I have seen pics of STUNNING tattoos covering mastectomy scars. So beautiful!

Yes, I will wait till I am at or very close to goal...hopefully only a few more months if I can keep up my rate of losing.

Speaking of covering scars, I am already thinking about covering up my surgery scars on my calves :) We will see where my career path heads; that will determine how many tattoos I can get.

If in doubt, send me a pic of you in a tank top and I can photoshop some tattoos on for a "test drive!" I've got pretty good skills and it could at least give you an idea ;)
