Hello guys! I'm about 7 months post op and am sitting at 201 pounds. My weight has been fluctuating between 201-202 for two months now! I'm going nuts! I've upped my exercise, upped my protein, and nothing has budged! I'm feeling hopeless that I'm not going to get any lower than that. Has anyone else been in a super long slump? Please tell me it will pass!

I went back to my preop diet of 20 gms carbs+ all the protein I could eat for a week and that helped move it along.

The only thing that works for me is lowering calories.

Not picking on you...... but almost every time this kind of post comes up...... no calories are mentioned ????????

This is VERY common.......

My guess is that you found your caloric balance point......your in maintenance.

It is most likely that your going to have to lower your calories by 200-400 for WL to resume.....

My guess is that your on about 1000-1200 calorie right now....

By general guidelines you should be fine........

But by your ticker you have some weight to lose like what I had to do......

I'd be closer to the 600-700 mark for the duration of WL.

yea thats exactly right, around 1000-1200. That's the point of where I should be according to Kaiser. But I'll try lowering it and see what happens.

This is actually the most common question I get and if you read back on this forum it is pretty clear that many on a 1000-1200 program WL comes to a crawl or stops at or around the 6 month mark.

Some less informed people that include some nutritionists may even advise you to increase calories...... that is pretty much a joke.

Kaiser surgeries and plans tend to vary between facilities, but 1000-1200 plans are pretty common for Kaiser.

Frisco knows what he is talking about.  Cut out 500 calories a day to see one pound of weight loss at the end of 7 days.  Continue to lose a pound a wee****il the rest of the excess weight is gone.

Increasing protein and exercise will not get rid of weight at this point.  Only cutting calories will work.  You will stay at that stall until you cut the calories.

Thank you for the reply. I will definitely cut some calories. Its hard because i feel hungry all the time, but I think i need to go back to basics and focus on eating more proteins than anything else.
