Smooth Move

I have been adding 6 teaspoons of the powdered fiber that turns out clear when mixed with liquids, every day for weeks and I am STILL constipated like crazy. A coworker of mine is on a high protein diet and said that she drinks Smooth Move tea and it gets things going. I am sipping on some right now - hope it gets things going!

Has anyone else ever tried?

My son used to use it- he had an RNY years ago.  He said it worked for him.  I have found increasing my fluid intake really helps in the constipation area.

Thanks for the reply. I hope it works for me too. I have been drinking a little less water the past couple days. Will up it today and see what happens.

Wotked great for me,  but my doctor said to be careful with it because it is a stimulant laxative. So use it, but not regularly (according to my doc) because you dont want your body getting used to it.

I use it once a week. It's a life saver! I love that its a tea and not pills or powders. Only thing is to make sure you drink some water afterwards or you will get gas. Be sure to stay around the bathrrom cause it will hit you without warning!

Just told the nurse about this on my Pre-op visit and she said to get senna. I went and bought it and it's made all the difference. She said I can take it post op so you might want to try it

I'm still pre-op and but I've got a protein heavy diet right now in preparation and I've had some annoying constipation.  I did a lot of googling and found out that upping vitamin C can help.  I've been taking 1000mg the last week and my bowels have been very happy!

I'm not sure if this would be safe for you since you're post-op, but it might be something worth looking into.
