what foods do you not tolerate well? What's the reaction to them?

I'm just curious if everyone has food items they can't tolerate and how their body reacts (symptoms).  Are these permanant problems, or are you able to eat those foods later?

I became lactose intolerant almost immediately after surgery. I would have horrible diarrhea if I drank milk (or any whey-based protein drinks - powders included). It was strange because cheese never bothered me, but anything that was closer to the "source" like sour cream, cream, etc made me sick.

I am just now 7 months post op and I just successfully reintroduced dairy back into my diet within the last few weeks. I'm not sure if I could have done it sooner... I was too scared to try!!

I am also finding that REALLY spicy foods aggravate my reflux, which makes me sad because my family had a Cajun background and spicy food is a way of life :( I'm working on changing my PPI though, so hopefully that will help.

Other than that and the standard problems with meat that is too dry, I've been pretty ok!

I'm only two weeks out, but sadly avocado is a no-go for me.  I can't have even one bite without it coming back up.

Dairy causes a violent reaction. Black coffee but then I discovered protein coffee. Meat that is dry causes pain that lasts hours. Ground beef is ok but other forms of beef haven't been as good. The nutritionist talked to us once about the "first bite" syndrome. If you can make the first bite tiny and chew chew chew it makes the entire meal go better

Early on I could not eat hamburger.  I could eat chicken, steak, pork chops, fish, etc, but give me hamburger I felt sick to my stomach.  I can now eat with no problem but it is not my favorite as it is not dense enough for me.  Noodles are hard for me to eat also which is a good thing because I don't need the carbs and i stay away from them for the most part.  I was a big pasta eater prior to surgery.
