Tear?

I kind of over did it today with my kids and now I have a sharp pain in my abdomen (under my big incision and next to my belly button by about an inch). I'll be calling my surgeon's office in the morning, but am wondering if this has happened to anyone here??? What happened to correct it if so???

I did that one day...though nothing as exciting as having fun with kids.  I laid down the wrong way and felt a "pop" in my belly.  It hurt even more then usual for about a week after.  I saw my doc seeing I was still in hospital and he said it was find.  I'd have to run a marathon to tear those stitches.  The pain is a good reminder though to take it easy...not that it gives you much choice though when it hurts that much.  Call your doc but I'm sure it's fine.

BTW...I did the same thing 10 years ago after my hysterectomy....decided I could hang 8 heavy curtains (still damp) across my entire living room by myself, 2 weeks out.  I was feeling so good! lol not after I hung the curtains...there's a reason they make you wait.

And no...I never learn.

Thanks for the reply. I called my office this morning and they said the same thing. Such a bummer to be set back, but I'm resting now.

I found heat helped a lot and pushing my fist into the area if I had to sneeze.  It will heal again...us moms just don't have the "rest" gene needed to sit around for 6 weeks ;)

I was still having a little pain as early out as you are, so hopefully you just mildly stressed something. I'm glad the doc's office thinks you're okay. Maybe you and the kids should stick to board games for now! Lol

If we all liked the same things, what fun would life be?

I slipped on ice Friday and swore I ripped out every staple in my new stomach. Turns out it is just a pull on my incisions. It felt like day 2 after surgery for few days. Still hurts but it forces you to slow down. Feel better
