Hi to all: Today is one month since my VSG surgery on Feb 5, 2014. I’m doing great no problems no complications. On phase 3 of my plan, eating soft foods, tuna, flaky fish, shrimp, yogurt, string cheese, eggs, chicken, beans, and cold cuts. 1 to 2 oz fills me up quickly, wait 30 mins and drink water and walk. After eating walking helps me a lot. I have learned to under-eat my sleeve, just as I learned from the vets on OH, thanks guys. Down 35 lbs, the scale at times moves slower and other times a little faster, but I’m not worried, I know I’ll reach my goal in about one year. In my opinion slow and easy is better, not putting extra stress on myself. People are starting to notice my face a little thinner and my pants baggier. I finally told my Mom about the surgery and of cause she started crying, she said that I could have died and she would not have known about it. She said that she wants to die before her kids and not the other way around. I assured her that everything went well in the surgery and that I was doing well. Mom will be 88 y/o on March 20, 2014, she’s the greatest.
As a new VSG vet, my advice to all that are on the fence about having VSG, please don’t wait too long, start a new beginning, enjoy your life to the fulless, enjoy your family and give thanks to the Lord.
Remember. ( Time is the Master )

Have a Blessed Day.

Congrats to you.  My parents knew about surgery and were at the hospital when I woke up.  But I know they were worried.  My brother was very worried and tried to talk be out of it but his concerns were from about 10 years ago.  The procedure and process around it has come a long way in 10 years.

Congrats! My surgery was on Feb 4, 2014. 35lbs is great. I've lost 24 so far. I agree that slow and steady wins the race!! :)
