8 days post op--Am I having too much?

I am 8 days post op. From the beginning I haven't had any problems taking in fluids and have managed to stay hydrated so far. I had to drink an 8 oz protein drink before being discharged and I have been having at least 1 of those a day since being at home. My plan is full liquid for 2.5 weeks (or basically until I see my surgeon and he can move me on!) The plan for full liquids includes allowing yogurt and tomato soup with skim milk. Plan states allowing 8 ounces of each. I have been able to do the 8 oz of soup and any other pure liquid no problems by just drinking it slow over the course of about 45 minutes. Yesterday I tried yogurt for the first time and had 4 oz. Plan allows for 8 but I wasn't feeling hungry and I didn't want to upset my stomach.

I know we shouldn't compare ourselves to others because every plan is different but I have noticed other post ops here only having a few ounces of protein or soup or broth etc. Am I taking in too much right now? I don't want to damage my sleeve. I haven't felt hungry or full and I know it's because my nerves were severed.

Thanks for the input!

Thanks! So weird how every plan is different. If I was doing only protein drinks it would be 3 8 oz protein drinks a day according to my surgeons plans! I just physically can't do that because I am very much over the sweet tasting protein shakes right now! (Especially chocolate, and I used to love chocolate!)

Take it SLOWLY. I don't think you're necessarily doing too much right now, but remember that what you are eating are considered "slider" foods. They don't sit in your sleeve, but rather flow on through. Just don't go OVER you're NUT's plan! And don't go too fast either! Vomiting early out is NOT fun!

Take care!

Thanks! I have been under eating my surgeons plan so far. For the first week all I did was protein drinks and soup with skim milk. I waited to add yogurt until yesterday even though surgeon said I could have it right away. I was too nervous at first but I needed a slight change up. He allows 8 oz which I just felt would be too much and stopped at a little under 4. I feel like being able to have the 8 oz protein drink and soup would be normal because it's pure liquid and isn't sitting in my sleeve. Yogurt is just so much thicker! I don't have plans to add anything else right now until I see him again. Then I get to try cottage cheese and re-fried beans or other protein filled mushy foods.
