Birthday Weekend

I consciously chose to eat a few sweets and do a shot of liquor this weekend for my birthday (I am 8 months post-op and some 100 + lbs. down with about 25 to 30 more lbs to go).  I still have continued to lose weight but I know the sugar blues are to come...ha!  I am looking forward to getting back on task...I did have some days (thurs. and Friday) where I was sick to my stomach and figured out it was the Chike...I just got a new tub of it for the first time (as I did the sample packets of it first)...I think I got a bad batch.  So, Sat. and Sun. have been a few bites of sweets along with my protein needs.  As I made a conscious choice to do this and to go back to basics once again I am choosing to live a conscious long term lifestyle of moderation with more emphasis on restriction and exercise and basic clean living.  What are you guys' thoughts on my thoughts?  I'm sure they are varied...also, has anyone ever gotten a bad batch of a protein powder?

I'm in the "moderation boat" as well. It if WORKS for you, then WORK IT. I, personally, don't see a darn thing wrong with having some birthday cake - or a birthday shot ;) You're right on point to watch for carb cravings and keep yourself in check.

It's a matter of planning, for me. Learning how your body reacts and taking steps to not fall down the rabbit hole. Sounds like you've got your brain wrapped around it :)

Happy birthday, by the way
