Something isn't right!

I was sleeved Thursday the 24th, aside from the awful nausea I had for 6 hours after surgery, it's been smooth sailing since. I almost feel like this isn't going to work for me! It's to easy & something doesn't seem right! I've been reading & researching on here since Dec. I've read a ton of posts about how when you have VSG, you don't feel hungry because they remove the part of stomach that sends message to brain that it's hungry.. Well, I feel hungry a lot, my stomach growls! Granted, once I eat I'm good with the little bit I eat but I'm never full!! Another thing I read here is that your body will tell you when you had enough. You'll feel a tightness in your chest.. I haven't experienced that & I feel like I never will! Not that I'm looking forward to that uncomfortable feeling because I'm not BUT I do want to know that my sleeve is working!

Your nerves were all cut, you won't "feel" much for quite awhile.

You're 5 days out from major surgery!  All of your stomach nerves were severed.  You can't trust it right now - it's a lying liar that lies.  Right now you should be measuring all you eat (although are you still on liquids?) and only eat what you've measured.  Don't expect your body to give you any signals until you're fully healed.

That said, stomach acid can mimic hunger.  Are you taking a PPI?  If not, ask your doctor for one.

Thanks for responding! That makes a lot of sense! I'm going to just continue doing what I'm doing! Let me ask you... What's a good dairy based protein shake for my stage?

I love Premier Protein Chocolate.  Still drink one every day at almost 9 months post op.  30 grams of protein in 11 ounces, low fat and low carb. You can get them at Costco, Sam's Club and BJ's Club.

Personally I stick to protein powder in almond milk, since I have more control that way.  I use Optimum Nutrition in Double Rich Chocolate.  I mix it with unsweetened original almond milk.  Yum.
