Hi All,

Just hit stage 2 liquids today... all I've received from the hospital and doctor was information about the number of grams of protein I need to intake, but there is no information about the total number of calories or percentages of carbs versus fats versus proteins.... does anyone know this information?  I'd really appreciate this information!!

Are you in full liquids?

Personally I didn't worry about anything other than protein and fluid until I got to pureed foods and actually started eating three meals a day.  (Well, actually I still don't worry about anything other than protein and fluids - since that seems to be working really well for me.  I'm not really able to eat enough of anything non-protein for it to matter!)

At this point, it really doesn't matter - as long as you are getting the requisite protein in, and your calories aren't our of line (like you are sucking up sodas, juices and milkshakes at DQ...) you can't be too far off on those counts. I never counted carbs or fats the entire time I was losing, as calories and protein are the essentials and the others fall in line without worrying about them (unless your doc or RD wants you to count them!)

Thanks All, did you find that you lost quickly or slowly? I've lost 28 since I started the pre-op diet, and about 10 since the surgery.  I'm just not sure what to expect.  Is it rapid weight loss like the gastric bypass or a bit more gradual?
