Out of Control!

OK Ill admit I've been out of control and bored with my foods. Which only means one thing I have let a lot of junk back  into my diet.  I need to get it together and fast. My diet is no longer CLEAN like I would like it.  Life is life and you will have hard times and there will be on point times in your life. This is a TOOL and you have to do the work.  I write these blogs for myself to look how far I have come and how far I still have to go.  Needless to say I have some work to do!!!  I love myself more than I love food and I will get threw this!!

I have lots of support and I know even thou I am a little over two years post-op I still have a long ways to go for myself.  Goals that I want to achieve and meet.  I know I can not do it, if I let all my hard work go.  I'm not sure what the problem is besides I'm just tired in general of all the protein and I haven't been taking my vits but that's nothing new.  I have been craving sweets a lot over the past couple months and have been eating them since I still go to the gym 4-5 days a week, but that's no excuse to eat them because then it becomes a habit which we all know are hard to break.  I am at the higher end of my weight range and I'm giving myself two weeks to be at the lower end. Which means NO JUNK!!!

346 NEVER AGAIN! PERIOD!

I am pre-surgery but know what that would mean for me. I numb out with food. When I am not getting what I need in another area, I turn to food. I applaud you posting, as secrets thrive in the dark.

Praying for you and am on this path with you. Blessings! -Michelle

I've found that paleo blogs are a great source for sleeve-friendly recipes.  Boredom is the quickest route to failure for me - I've got to keep my foodstyle exciting if it's going to be sustainable!

I understand what you mean about being tired of the same old food.  I find I have to vary my diet and eat good, interesting foods, or I would not have the strength to resist some of my forbidden foods.  I can say "no" to the pizza, telling myself "you cannot have pizza, but you have that delicious Greek chicken with kalamatta olives at home." or "you cannot have that ice cream, but you can have that greek yogurt with some berries."  or "you cannot have those fried potatoes, but you can eat that cheesy green bean casserole."  I know that if I let my guard down, and if I don't have some tasty alternatives, that I will succumb to the call of the junk food.  And the junk food is so readily available and takes no effort!

Good luck with breaking the junk food habit.  You can do it.  You've done it before.  You know what to do.

best wishes,

Carol

Thanks for posting and sharing.  I think we all go thru this.  My daughter lost it at about the same point gained back 30 pounds.  She hasn't gained any more since and even working out several times a week can't get it back off.  It is great to own it and control it before it wins.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Been there, done that...and I'm only 1 year out so I have no excuses other than hubris and wanting to pretend like I'm a "normie" and can eat that stuff.  I can't...proven it over and over again.

Prepare for 3-4 days of white-knuckling it to get yourself decarbed.  Go hard-core, girl!  Go back to the basics of dense protein, some veggies and lots of water and nothing else for 3-4 days and then you'll actually feel your body relax back into weight-loss mode.

You can do this!

I am two years out and began premature menopause, thus starting HRT replacement.  I packed on 10 lbs.  I am starting to see a small weight gain.  I need to reverse my weightgain asap.  I am getting worried.

I eat small, but do engage in the 1 piece of pizza, but do eat high protein, and stay away from all bread, rice, and pasta (except pizza) - 1 slice.  Any ideas for a jump start?
