No problems drinking one week out? Is this normal?
I'm one week out today and I have NO problems drinking. I can drink exactly as I could pre-op to the point it almost scares me. If it wasn't for my incisions, I wouldn't have thought anything was done.
Is it ok for me to be drinking 'normal' if I can or do I need to sip? I just finished an 11oz protein drink in about 10 minutes because I was busy and not concentrating on sipping. That's what worried me and compelled me to write this post.
It was normal for me! I had no problems drinking post-op. Yay!

Same here, never had an issue drinking. I wouldn't recommend taking big huge gulps but if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

You do you, and I'll do me
I am 4 weeks post-op and I really had no problems drinking after I got out of the hospital. At first it scared me but I realized that not having a problem getting my protein in was definitely not a bad thing. I was put on a 4 week post-op liquid diet and am just about done with it. I have been eating small amounts of real food once a day to see how it goes. I can't speak for anyone else but I don't think real food is going to be nearly as easy for you. It sure hasn't been for me so far.
I also never had problems drinking. In fact, at my 6 month mark, I learned (due to a trip out in the heat!) that I can chug when I need to! (4 bottles in 20 minutes!) We had a refresh/food break and I had to get my waters in before I could have lunch and get back on the motorcycle!
FYI, the ability to drink has nothing to do with your ability to eat. :)
