An added bonus of my WLS
I'll be 2 weeks out tomorrow so maybe I'm saying this too fast, but I'm starting to believe my sleeve is my new BFF ;) I've lost 24 pounds (including pre-op diet), 16 since surgery. This morning I walked 2.5 miles on the treadmill. It may have taken me 46 minutes, but a couple of weeks ago I couldn't even go a mile.
And here's the best part so far. Around the time my son was born (8 years ago) I started having burning hot knife pains through my upper mid-back. I've been to every doctor you can imagine for these pains. It was finally diagnosed as atypical asthma and I was put on massive dosages of inhalers which I've been on for a couple years now. The inhalers never helped my pain, but I figured my lungs were so super inflamed that I'd just have to deal with it the rest of my life.
Guess what? Since I woke up from the surgery two weeks ago I haven't felt this pain ONE SINGLE TIME. My guess? It was my hiatal hernia! I hope I'm right and hope I never have to feel that pain again. I had been in misery for years. If I didn't lose another single pound the surgery would've been worth it to me, just to get rid of that pain. I could never exercise or walk very far before because I felt like that pain was taking my breath. I haven't even had a dose of my inhaler since surgery. I'm so grateful :)
Yay for being pain free!! That's the best improvement in existence.

That's great! I'm two weeks out Wednesday. I had back pain after pregnancy also, weakened core. My back was compensating for my weak abdomen.
One thing, I'm jealous of is the walking. I have NO energy. Im exhausted walking down my street 12 houses and back. It's like my legs are lead!
how are you doing it? Are you tired at all?
I went to bed at 8:30 last night!!
