For best results: Don't count down, count up...

Around this site, and everywhere really, there is a lot of focus on counting down toward personal weight goals.  After all, it's really how we're all plugged together, constantly striving to achieve goals.  However, I often notice this leads to a lot of frustration either due to stalls, slow weight loss, or whatever else is getting into your head.

My advice:  Don't count down to your weight goal, establish a routine that fits the program, accept on faith that reaching the goal is inevitable, and count up the number of successful days on the program.  Think of each new day adding to the total success and find a way of keeping that score front and center.

That makes so much sense!  As someone who is struggling in maintenance, I will definitely do this.  What a great idea!

Thank you!

Great idea.  If we count successful days, the weight loss will follow in its own time!
