I am in love...with my treadmill!
I am fortunate to work from home some days and have been asking my spouse to build me a desk to go over my treadmill for a year but unfortunately that hasn't happened yet. Recently a coworker advised me that one can purchase a shelf that attaches to the treadmill and will hold a computer or tablet. Although the little shelf was not ideal I figured it was better than nothing and would get me from a seated position to vertical so even a little improvement is better than nothing. Last week I started at 1.2 for an hour and worked my way up to five hours at 1.9 yesterday; today I'm at 2.0 and I think that is where I'll stay for now. I can't go too fast because I can't work if things are bouncing around but surely walking 9.9 miles at a leisurely pace is better than sitting at a desk all day. I wish I'd discovered this little gadget months ago!
Now I'm sad because I have business the rest of the week that will keep me at a desk for three days and I doubt the other guests would appreciate me monopolizing the treadmill in the hotel fitness room all night afterward. I'll have to go out walking in the city.
Super awesome!
I've heard that hospital tables are a great option for walking desks - they're adjustable for height and much cheaper than other options. Might be worth looking into.

I'm jealous! I sit on my butt all day long also and I HATE it with a passion! Our bodies were not designed to sit all day. Ugh, just hope I can retire in about 3 more years . . . AND wish companies were willing to purchase treadmill desks - they would recover the expense by saving on medical claims - back aches, stiff joints, etc. And the beat goes on . . . .
