If you've ever wondered why some people you know can eat anything and not gain weight...

It turns out that somewhere between 20-35% of the population has the body chemistry to do exactly that.  We all just fell into the unlucky portion.

Personally, I think the basic unhealthy state of the food industry, and the lack of proper education on dietary choies, will eventually overwhelm even that portion of population.  But hey, at least we're making choices that put us on the cutting edge of corrective behaviors.  Stick with the program and beat the odds!

My mother is one of those people. In fact she has to struggle to get UP to a normal BMI*, and she loves eating and eats whatever she wants.

She's my mother and I love her . . . but I am occasionally filled with rage and jealousy and even anger that she didn't give me that portion of her DNA!

*Fun fact: her physician has advised her to eat protein bars every day in order to gain weight and/or maintain it. One of the reasons I try to avoid them!
