Pain after a year.

Has anyone else had this happen? I went running last night, new for me, and woke up this morning and all day with terrible pain directly under my breast bone where my stomach is. Hurts to walk, breathe, or eat. I called my surgeon and they say to jus****ch it. Anyone else ever have this happen?

Different timing but yes.  It hit me about 4-5 months after surgery.

It surfaced randomly on a Saturday morning and lasted through Sunday.  It began fading by Monday but lasted a week or so before things returned to normal.

On the whole, it was strong enough that I considered a call to the surgeon's office but hesitated since it tapered off by Monday.  I made the decision to ride it out a few days to see what happened and since everything returned to normal I never pursued it further.  I always assumed it was scar tissur or something.

This has had a lot of pain involved.  I guess I will watch it over the next few days and see.

This recently happened to my husband after attending a fitness class where he did a bunch of jumping jacks.  His stomach and other core muscles were so weak that his panni pulled terribly and caused a small tear in the muscle in the upper part of his stomach.  Causing a hernia, basically.  Not a big deal overall but painful for sure!

It could be indigestion and just happen to go along with your running for that day. Try some antacid pills.  When I get it, it feels like I'm having a heart attack.  I saw a cardio doc and that what he told me.  Never hurts to try something and when I get it maybe once every 6-8 months it last for 4 days and hurts when I eat, breath and sleep/move. Good Luck. hope you feel better!
