How many calories per day for sleevers?

My surgeon/nut do not have a particular calorie goal that I should strive for so I'm wondering what is the number of calories that most of you veterans are shooting for?

I track my every bite on Lose It! and I'd like to set a reasonable goal.   BTW I'll be 4 weeks out on Tuesday 9/16 so will transition then from soft foods to "all" foods.

Thanks!

My surgeon/NUT didn't give me calorie guidelines either, they don't necessary look at that part. But, months 1-3  my intake was 500-700 calories on any given down. Now i'm 4 months out. My calorie intake has been up these past few days (eating ranch) so I think i'm between 700-900. I used to do the MFP calorie counter but I grew quickly tired of that. I eat 2oz at each meal (4) and normally aim for 150 calories for each one. Just keep in mind days will vary and sometimes your stomach dictates your intake need. While I have been keeping at 2oz/meal, I've also be using ranch as a sauce these past 2 days (just a dab). I know that's a no no for some, but every now and then I splurge on something like that. I know as the months go on our stomach will be able to hold more and calorie consumption will go up. But for now I will focus more on weighing my food than writing down/tracking my calories since this has worked for me. After a while you will have your "go to" foods and already know your nutritional value in them.

I am 1 year and a half out and I can do 1000-1200 to maintain. Depends a bit on your activity level as well.

I just emailed my nut today and asked for this information

she stated I should be eating 400 to 600 calories a day

60 grams protein and 64 ounces water/ fluid

I'm 3 weeks out

she said I should not worry about anything else except those goals

I'm on soft food until week 4 then I add meats for 2 weeks than back to everything slowly of course!

Hope this his helps you and good luck

In the weight loss phase I stuck to 800 calories per day or less.  At 4 weeks out I wasn't quite hitting 800 calories yet because of the small amounts but I eventually got there and stuck with that until I hit goal.

My program didn't set calorie guidelines.  They just said, whatever you are doing is working, so keep doing it.  At first my tummy was so tight that I probably got in about 450 to 600 calories.  Over time, I increased the calories as my tummy got bigger, and it took more to satisfy me. I remember a long period of time when I was getting 600 to 800 calories a day.  By the end at about 1 year post op, I was eating about 1,000 calories a day.  Now that I am in maintenance, I am eating 1,200 to 1,400 calories a day.  I think this is a little low, and I may up it again if my weight continues to fall.  But its getting pretty close to a stable weight now.

best of luck,

Carol

Right after surgery, I tried to keep it between 600-800 calories per day.  Now I shoot for 800 calories per day, but look at it as an average.  Some days it's higher; some days it's lower.  What is important for me is to track everything I eat (and good for you for doing it too) because it helps to keep me accountable.  I also want to insure that I get enough protein per day (80 grams is recommended, and again, with me it's what I average).

Congratulations on having the surgery.  Keep motivated

I worked my way up to between 1000-1200 calories during my loss phase, (that's with burning 500 calories 5x\week in exercise). Today I'm in maintenance and I eat my BMR (1300) + exercise calories to maintain.
