Nauseous from iced tea?????

Okay, milk, I get it. Lactose intolerance, blah blah. But iced tea? Any idea why it makes me queasy?

Did you drink a little too much of it at once? If it has sugar it could also make you nauseous. If either of those aren't the issue, I have no idea. Sometimes your stomach just doesn't like to tolerate certain foods/drinks.

Nope, no sugar. I think you're right -- sometimes the stomach just doesn't want something. It sucks, though, because I love iced tea and it's a good way to get my fluids in. Maybe it's certain types of iced tea? Hard to figure out.

My standard drink before surgery was unsweetened iced tea.  For some reason, after surgery it made me queasy.  (Maybe there's some type of acid in it?  I don't know, never really looked into it.)  After a few months I was able to drink it again but it still doesn't sit as well as it used to.  I've switched to diet green tea, which doesn't cause any problems with me.

I should really pay attention to the types that work and the types that don't. It's work, but it's better than feeling sick.

I found that the caffeine in the tea irritated my stomach after surgery.  It took a while for me to be able to tolerate it.

Maybe it was too cold.

Sometimes it's the temperature of certain liquids.  For me, ice cold fluids will cause some acid feelings and a little nausea.  I have to be careful.  Also, tea itself is filled with tannic acids and it's those acids that might be messing with your stomach right now.

I would try tea at a warmer temp and see if that works.  If it doesn't work then just lay off the tea for awhile until you are further out.

I hadn't even considered the temperature, though I read that sometimes cold drinks will do that. Thanks!

I can't handle much of it either.  I think it's the ice and the cold temperature that doesn't work for me.  Plus the caffeine was keeping me up at night.  I don't have an issue with warm tea.
