Anyone else experience nausea shortly after taking calcium citrate? What causes it and how can i counteract it without zophran or fenergan?

Lots of minerals can cause nausea. I know the calcium citrate I take says on the bottle to take with food -- are you doing that?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Same result. Of course I'm only a little over 2 weeks out and just starting the puree stage, that may have a lot to do with it I reckon.

When I use the Bariatric Advantage Calcium Citrate chews (Chewy bites) I am good, but when I took the Costco pill they tore me up. Prior to the costco one I tried some I got from the Vitamin Shoppe and they were awful.  I have to use the chews.  My favorite flavor is the new Orange!

Currently, I'm on the berry flavored Celebrate brand.

I couldn't tolerate my chewable vitamins after surgery, and my Nutritionist suggested crushing them and mixing them with a little fat-free Greek Yogurt.  This worked for me.  I add a little artificial sweetener, and its a sweet treat every morning and night.

best wishes,

Carol

I too am just over two weeks out, and am getting  nauseated as well when I take my calcium citrate. I have been taking my zofran, prior to taking it, so I can tolerate it
