Dry itchy scalp?

14 weeks post op for the sleeve.  I have noticed patches of dry areas on my scalp.  Has anyone experienced this?

my scalp is very dry I now use head n shoulders now I rarely itch.

My skin in general seems much drier than in the past. I haven't noticed dry scalp, but my head itched like crazy for about a month when my hair first started getting thinner. So far the hair loss hasn't been too bad and the itching went away. I'm just using tons of moisturizer on the rest of me. I'm 4 1/2 months out.

I did have this issue before, and it got worse after. If you have a Trader Joe's nearby, try the tea tree tingle shampoo & conditioner. It doesn't have sodium laurel sulfate in it. I did some digging, and some people are sensitive to this common shampoo ingredient. I noticed a big difference after about three weeks. I also live in a desert area, so everything dries out here.

Massage some tea tree oil or coconut oil into your scalp a couple times a week at night.  It really helps.  When you're able, make sure to add healthy fats to your diet through olives, olive oil, avodoes and nuts.
