4 month surgiversary
Happy Surgiversary to me!!! It has been 4 months since my surgery. In those 4 months I am down 61 pounds (down 73 total). Go me!!! I have had several NSVs including crossing my legs, falling underwear (glad I had on pants), diabetes in remission, looking at my collar bone, etc. There has been a setback or two. The peripheral neuropathy, thought to be caused by a vitamin B1 deficiency, is brutal. The pain in my feet definitely slowed my exercise. I am on a few meds which appear to be helping me make it through the day...and night. So back to the gym I go. I miss it so much.
This has been the best decision of my life. The whole journey has been absolutely thrilling. While I am not perfect in this journey, I know I have a lifetime, to get as close as I can.
Congratulations! You are doing a great job. Celebrate those wonderful NSVs. I'm sorry about your setbacks. I hope you are pain-free soon and back to the gym.
I agree that this is a "best decision of my life". I am celebrating my 4 month surversary next week on the 8th Can't wait to be there with you! Hopefully I will be down 61 by next week too!.
Congratulations to my surgery twin! You are doing awesome! Your comment about the collar bone made me smile. I waste a lot of time in front of a mirror these days, just looking at my neck. lol Aren't the changes amazing?
I hope you're able to get your B1 levels up where you need soon and you continue to rock your sleeve!

Congrats on your successes!

I take 50 mg of B1 (prescription) a day. I was also taking a B complex at the suggestion of the doctor also. That was just an over the counter pill. A review of my blood work shows that it definitely worked. My B1 went back to normal range.
I don't know if this will be a lifetime vitamin or not. I'll have to ask the surgeon in January.
I have an appointment in February with a neurologist to see how much damage was done to my nerves during those months of deficiency. Hopefully it is all reversible!
I'm glad your B1 is back to normal! How frustrating that you have to wait until February to see a neurologist, I'd be nervous. But hopefully all will be well!
