I went for my final visit to the surgeon before the big day on Tuesday,  turns out I have to get my gallbladder out also. So he is going to go in and remove my lap band, do the sleeve with a 40 fb, and then take the gallbladder out also. Im going to be one sore puppy!!! He also said they do a leak test in surgery and unless i have a racing heart beat and fever, they do not do another one. I was a little relieved but at the same time concerned. Fingers crossed this is going to go well!

Sounds good!  Just a few more days and then you'll get to devote your time and energy to recovery :)

Good luck.  Good for you.  It saved you another surgery down the road.  From what I understand the recovery for gallbladder is about the same. So you won't even know the difference.

How is the decision made to take the gallbladder at the same time?

I had to go in for an ultrasound on my gallbladder a few weeks ago and was told if I had any stones in my gallbladder they would take it out at the time of my surgery. They say a lot of people who lose weight rapidly end up having issues with their gallbladder so it's just best to take it out while doing the wls so you don't have to go back for a second surgery.  I of course had a few small stones so the tech said more than likely my surgeon will be removing that as well. 

ive been having some pain under my right rib, cramping.... sometimes pretty intense. Dr ordered a hydescope (?), basically a gallbladder test. He said it was overactive and i would just end up back in his office in about 6 mths to a year to have it removed anyway.
