3 years since my sleeve
It's been awhile since I've posted here. It's been 3 years and 3 months since my sleeve and I'm here to tell you that there's not a day that goes by that I'm not thankful for the miracle of the surgery. I still can't get over seeing the new me looking back in the mirror.
my life has changed a lot! I was never into exercise, my mother wasn't into exercise, my grandmother wasn't into exercise. But I am now. One of the best things I did was join a gym and get a personal trainer. I see him twice a month, he gives my homework and I do it. I'm there 4days a week for an hour or more.(Being retired helps.)
i avoid bread and pasta but because neither is forbidden, I don't feel deprived. If I want a cookie, I can have a cookie but I have to go out and buy ONE. No packages in the house. If I want chips, I can have those too, but only a pack from a vending machine (usually when I get our car serviced).
I've lost 80 to 83 pounds which was as much as I wanted to lose. My weight hasn't changed in two years!
It's so wonderful to see your success. I'm only at 5 weeks post-op myself so it's encouraging to see someone years ahead of me still doing well and maintaining. It makes me optimistic about my future. Congratulations.

Don't be nervous. One of the things that's kind of surprising is that weight loss continues even after a year. I do understand the nervousness tho. Like weighing in at Weigh****chers. I even look forward to my weigh ins, how wierd is that. I never put a time limit on my loss because I wanted to keep the pressure off.
