How long was your surgery (Lapband removal and Sleeve created)

I'm going from a lapband to a VSG and just wondering what peoples experiences have been, how long did your surgery take? I've seen video's of lapband removals in 15min or so (best case scenario) and knowing my Dr needs about 45 to do the sleeve, I assume I would be under for max 1.5 hrs.  Of course the Dr office has scheduled a 3 hr window for Prep , actual surgery, and cleanup.

Just wondering how long yours took.

I had mine in two separate surgeries.  The lapband removal 02/14/13 - i think it was pretty quick. and then the VSG on 4/30 - i have no idea how long it took.

My husband says mine was about 1:15 or 1:30. I had the removal and revision done at the same time.

Mine took almost 2 hours. I had a lot of scar tissue which is why it took so long. Good luck.

Totally depends on how much damage the band has caused. I've read about some that took 4-6 hrs because of erosion and scar tissue or adhesions to the liver or other organs. If he doesn't run into any extrs problems 1.5-2 hrs sounds about right.

I had removal and revision in the same surgery and I think it was about 1.5 hours.

 

I was out in under 45 minutes...my husband was shocked when the doctor came out to tell him I was done.  He thought something had gone wrong and that he was coming out to give bad news! 

Mine was maybe 2.5 hours. I had some scar tissue, so it caused bleeding and complicated things slightly.

I had a lap band removal and hernia removed and revision to gastric sleeve on 12-22-14.  It took 3 hours because I had to repair my hernia. I work in the OR and do the scheduling and that is normal time for the procedure you going to have. It doesn't mean that is going to take that window time. Good luck mines was a success thank God.
