Anyone see The View today? Rosie O'Donnel was talking about her sleeve. Had her doctor on the show for a segment. I was surprised that they did not mention eating protein and limiting carbs after the surgery. They did talk about support after the surgery for dealing with emotional eating, but I thought they made it sound very easy and a guaranteed success without a lot of effort from the participant. Not sure how much Rosie lost. She said she weighs 185 now and that she had no choice but to have the surgery because of her heart attack. Opinions?

Is that why she is so nasty and angry maybe a side effect of her surgery. I find her to be obnoxious so I don'****ch, too much fighting

The fact that the doc was still selling the crap band and no mention of the DS made it less informative and more infomercial to me!

I read somewhere that she lost 50 lbs. with the sleeve.  I know she's taller than me but I don't see that as a rousing endorsement for VSG.

Well I saw the show and I personally think that Rosie has done fantastic! How can we say if she should/could lose more, it is to each his own. Providing people with information to make their own choices is the appropriate thing to do, not knock one surgery or the other. I do think that they maybe skimmed over the emotional eating side; does the VSG help with this? Certainly curbs your appetite but emotional eaters don't eat because they are physically hungry; well it's emotional. Anyway I think she is great and I hope that some from listening to her look into the surgery for their own success.
