When can I drink coffee again?

This has been one of the hardest things to give up on pre op.. I have cheated a few times. I live in boston.. There's like 3 feet of snow outside and I would kill someone for a dunks or Starbucks!

Not caffiene withdrawals.. I drink mostly decaf.. Missing the taste. How long post op do you have to wait?

It really depends on the surgeon, mine had no restrictions on coffee (assuming it was black coffee and not laden with calories!)

I didn't have to wait at all and got a lot of my early fluid requirements in with drinking iced coffee.

That sucks.  My surgeon is making me wait 3 weeks post op...concerns about the amount of acid.  He seems a bit more stringent than most other surgeons, though...are you on a PPI like Nexium?  It might be less of an issue if so.

I'm not on nexium.. I have to ask my NUT about when I can have coffee.. Just to make sure.

Coffee is on my Stage 2 diet, and I love my coffee. But at Day 7 Post-Op I still haven't had any because I am working so hard to get my 48 oz of water in, and I have to start at the beginning of the day to accomplish this. :-)

Coffee was fine for me with my surgeon's blessing straight out of the gate. I didn't feel like it for about a week but there was no restriction. I took nexium for six weeks post op.
