hair loss
Unfortunately, the answer is "no". No one here has a magic formula for the hair loss woes. Most people are going to experience loss and some will have heavy loss like I did. Google "telogen effluvium" and it will explain why you lose hair after major surgery.
In the meantime try this: wash your hair less often, be gentle with it, have it cut into flattering layers to hide the thin spots, use hair fibers (Toppik) to cover super-thin spots.
To make sure my new hair that came in was healthy I took biotin (won't stop or slow down loss), made sure I got 80 grams of protein a day or more, took all my vitamins, etc.
I can definitely say that at 20 months post-op I finally have back all the hair I lost after surgery...and I lost at least half my hair according to my hair guy It will pass, promise!
Sadly, no. Make sure you're getting all of your protein, vitamins and liquids in. It will stop eventually and the hair will grow back.

I'm dealing with this too at 7 months out. It started about 2 months ago and has slowed down now, but it's still coming out. I just keep reminding myself that it's temporary, and I got a shorter, lighter cut that makes it less noticeable (and I'm hoping people just think my hair looks different because it's a different style, not because it's so thin). It sucks, but it will pass.
