Is it ok to take Tums? Not sure if I read somewhere that we can't.

You should ask your surgeon.

Personally, I take a PPI each morning and use Tums if I need breakthrough relief during the day.

It's calcium carbonate which isn't the right kind of calcium for us.

The ASMBS says we need to take Calcium Citrate.  Calcium Carbonate isn't absorbed well by our small stomachs and it can lead to kidney stones.
