Does anyone know if it's okay to have communion(specifically the bread) during the first two weeks after surgery?

Don't take it and be very very good?

Just kidding. Don't know what the answer is.

Bread is not liquid.  So if you're on a liquid diet, bread is not okay.

It's not real bread! ;) it's a thin wafer not even quarter size. I took it and I was fine, I just let it melt in my mouth.

I think that depends on the religion.  I've only seen wafers in Catholic services, the other denominations I've attended have all used real bread cut into cubes.

Regardless, it's not a liquid.

I had it nine days post op and was fine. Like I said tho, I let it dissolve in my mouth. If it was real bread than no way!!!!!

I took the bread after surgery and let it melt in my mouth. It was a pretty small piece and I had no issues!

I would say "liquids only" means "liquids only" for that two weeks. I'm not religious, but I'm sure your god wouldn't want you risking a leak and possible sepsis to consume his flesh...probably best to keep to blood-only communion until the mushy phase.

You do what you feel most comfortable with. What you eat/don't eat is a medical issue & the lord will understand and accept your decision.

if you are talking about the communion wafer that is so thin it's like rice paper and dissolves on your tongue with your saliva, I don't see why it would be an issue.
