Help Please!
I think it's well known that the lap band fails many people, so I wouldn't worry too much. I've seen numerous people express that "the sleeve is what the lap band promised it would be." So.. I wouldn't worry too much.

A bariatric nurse from Johns Hopkins told me last summer that the band fails 60% of the people who get it. It's by no means an ideal solution for everybody. My current surgeon told me a few weeks ago that he is doing fewer and fewer bands because the other choices (sleeve and rny) are much more effective.

The band is so bad at successful weight loss that even the Mayo clinic no longer does them. They are notorious for causing reflux and GERD which is very unhealthy. I know 2 women who have completely lost their stomachs due to band damage, The band was a horrible thing and sadly many of us have paid dearly for the damage it has cost us. Only 40% of banded people have any success at all so don't feel like you have to defend your self at all!
