No appetite

Dispatch from the newly pregnant (and not sure what to do, still, but figuring it out): I have just about completely lost my appetite. The weight is tumbling off, but this is not healthy. Has this happened to any of you, pregnant or not? (This is why I'm posting in the more general forum as opposed to the Pregnancy After WLS forum.) How did you combat it? Thanks!

I was obese with my first son and for the first 4 months

had NO APPETITE WHATSOEVER... I had no morning sickness...just not hungry...

I Remember the day I got it back like it was yesterday..it was 20 yrs ago!!

ate 3 salami and provolone sandwiches on mini rolls LOL!!!

dont worry at all..the baby takes what it needs from you...

Just make sure you keep up with your pre-natal vitamins.

I'm not surprised!  It sounds like you're dealing with a lot right now - the decision you're working on making is a big one.  I don't think I'd have much of an appetite either.  Just try to keep your fluids up, maybe add some shakes in to get your protein.

So true! I will try the shakes.

I lost a good 10 lbs the first month or two of my pregnancy.  I think it is actually relatively normal b/c of the morning sickness.  Like someone else said make sure to get your vitamins b/c the baby will suck everything he/she needs from you.

Good Luck!

I had no appetite for almost a year.  I ate simply because my body needed it.  I didn't enjoy much during this period, so I just looked for the highest protein punch.

That's good to know that some appetite comes back eventually. I am just two-weeks post-op, but I am not enjoying anything I eat.
