Random question: Blood test immediately post-op
This will be random, but I've been unsuccessful in finding the answer with basic internet searches. And I won't see my doctor for a while yet to ask the question.
Immediately after the VSG, like 24 hours later, the hospital took a vial of blood for "testing" to see how I was recovering. Does anyone know what they were testing? I was a zombie then, and didn't have the presence of mind to ask Just wanted them to go away!
Was it a white blood cell count or something?
White blood cell count would be my best guess too.

My surgeon required a blood test the next morning. He was looking for signs of leaks/complications. I could not have any water/ice until the test results came back. That was a long day.
