I am 6 months out now. I don't eat out but some friends are taking me to Sol Y Luna,,,, Mexican restaurant tomorrow night.

I need advice on what to order, any suggestions? Also, do they have child's menu? Thanks in advance! :) Karen

Do you have a link to the restaurant's site?  that would be the best way to check out the menu.  (There are multiple hits on google in different locations for that name.)

Fajitas with just the meat and veg are a good option for mexican food.  Taco salad sans shell can be good, but depends on where you are with lettuce.

I've never seen healthy options for me on a children's menu pretty much anywhere.. I just prepare to have leftovers.

I would do the chicken fajita without tortilla. Chicken & grilled veggies only. They may also have a tortilla soup. You could ask for without the tortillas. But the sodium may be a little high with that.

I know, isn't that sad about the children's menus? It's always hot dogs, mac and cheese, grilled cheese, chicken tenders, etc.

And then people wonder why childhood obesity is a problem, right?

A good Mexican restaurant should have fish and shrimp dishes.

I'm also 6 months post op and recently went to a Mexican restaurant and ordered a tostada with beans and shredded beef. I ate most of the beef first, which had me pretty full. I didn't eat much of the lettuce and didn't touch the shell. I left pretty satisfied.

I find that the shrimp ****tail is a great option at Mexican restaurants. Lots of protein in the shrimp and great taste. You'll have leftovers but that's ok. Enjoy!
