Planning my first week long beach trip and have questions. What should I pack for food. I will be staying at a place 30 minutes from the beach. So I will need to take my food with me on the beach. Any suggestions?

Also, am I able to drink any margaritas? Thanks for all your suggestions!! :)

Beach trip is at the end of July,, the same place were the shark attacks happened! Only my big toe is getting

in the water! :)

I just got back from a beach trip.  We stayed on the beach, so I could run up to my room to eat.  Having said that though, I think a cooler would work with all the normal foods.  I basically had protein shakes, string cheese, yogurts, hard-boiled eggs w/salsa, etc.

As far as alcohol, my surgeon says when you are ready to stop losing weight, then you can add in alcohol.  Even at that point, it should be done so in moderation.

Be so careful with alcohol as it's basically just sugar. Have fun but be careful.

We went to the beach for a week recently and I had a pina colada every single day (I am 10 lbs. away from reaching goal).  I also ate whatever I wanted to within moderation - worst thing I ate was fried shrimp.  I gained 4 lbs. during that week but it only took me one week to lose it - and get back on track.  My favorite beach snack is cold red seedless grapes and low fat cheddar cheese stick - yummy!  I drank lots of water while on the beach.  We are also going to Oak Island, NC next week with our grandchildren - the exact beach where the teenagers were attacked by sharks - yikes!  I always thought I was avoiding the sharks by not going to Florida but alas I guess the sharks are everywhere - boo hiss!  Hope you have a great vacation and I would allow myself one treat per day - it is, after all, vacation!

A cooler with lunch meats, lots of water, crystal light packets, jerky, Quest bars or protein shakes if you're still doing them, nuts (sparingly).  I don't drink alcohol so I can't comment on that.  All plans are different as far as that goes.  Have fun!  I was in Aruba 5 weeks post op and it was easier than I thought it would be :)  xoxo

We are goin in August and my plan is to take a cooler with frozen grapes and strawberries, string cheese, P3 packs, beef jerky, and Quest bars (which will melt, so I'll throw those in the cooler too). Also will take big jug of water with fruit infused ice.

Thanks to all of you!!! I have got some great ideas now. Frozen grapes, strawberries, cheese sticks, beef jerky, ..... I'm so excited about going! This is my first time getting to see the ocean during the summer time!! I will probably act like a kid seeing those waves come in for the first time! Did any of you exercise while on the beach? Walks? (I can't swim, so only my big toe is getting in the water!) Thanks again for all the suggestions! Be glad to hear more though. ??

Answer regarding exercise on the beach - For the first time in 25+ years I could walk on the beach without my thighs rubbing raw from chub rub!  Oh the bliss of walking and walking and walking with no pain.  A pure joy!  I hope you have the same experience.
