Week 1: 8 lbs lost

Week 2: 5 lbs lost

Week 3: 3 lbs lost

Week 4: 4 lbs lost

Thankfully I didn't experience the dreaded 3-week stall at all!

Seems like you're right on track!!

I don't have real good weekly losses but am nearing 1 month (November 5th) and have lost a total of 17lbs so far.

Week 1 (10/15): -10

Week 2 (10/22): ??

Week 3 (10/29): -7 (I think most of these lbs were actually lost in Week 2 because I've been at a stand still the last week or so.)

Week 4 (11/5): TBD

Age: 42 | Height: 5'9 | Surgery Date: 10/08/15 | Starting Weight: 279.2 | Surgery Weight: 266 | Goal Weight:165 | Current Weight: 224.8 | WL so far: 54.4 lbs

Weekly losses will drive you insane. They can be all over the place, for no apparent reason.

I weighed every day, but only recorded my weight once a month. Monthly losses are much more likely to follow a consistent pattern. Weekly losses will put you in the loony bin.

OH SO TRUE!!! Do you weigh every 4 weeks or just on the monthly anniversary of your surgery? Don't know that it really matters....

Please try not to compare your weight loss journey to others. There will always be people who lose faster then you, and slower then you. The more you have to lose the faster the weight comes off initially for a good many people. Some people it's 1-2 lbs a week. If you stall which everyone does eventually, then the loss is at a standstill for awhile.

I can't say I've never looked @ someone with similar height and starting weight, to see where they are 3 and 6 months and a year out to give myself a ballpark idea of where I might be heading. But week to week is not a good idea, there are so many variables.

I think that if you follow your diet recommendations and begin or continue exercise on a regular basis when you doc approves you to do so then you will be successful.

Honestly, it's pointless to focus on weekly weight loss or compare yourself to anyone else on this. Everyone loses at different rates. Some people lose consistently and other people drop a bunch one week and won't lose for 2-3 more weeks. But in the end it averages out.

You can see my monthly losses in my sig line. If you must compare then make sure it's someone who is your same age, height and with the same amount of weight to lose. At least then it's a little more apples-to-apples comparison.

Everyone is motivated in different ways. I only weighed myself at appointments and now maybe every two weeks. I don't want to be a slave to the scale and I feel like I know my body....my clothes keep getting loser, I keep being able to run longer and faster. If I was struggling with that then perhaps I may weight myself more, but until then I'll do every two to three of weeks.
