I am five wks. Post-Op. my Gastric Sleeve and am curious when I can stop crushing my regular medicine? I take Blood Pressure and Thyroid medicine. I am having to crush the medicine every morning. Sometimes I mix it with food but usually I get busy and don't stop to eat until almost lunch time.

Check with your doctor.  All of our surgeons have different rules.  I took my PPI and synthroid normally as soon as I got home a few days after surgery... certainly long before five weeks.  If your medication is synthroid taking it with food causes it to bind to minerals and not be as effective.

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

Check with your surgeon, but you should be able to take regular pills by now.

The ASMBS says that we shouldn't have a problem with pills, so I'd ask your surgeon.  I was swallowing pills the day I got home.

I have been taking my regular meds since the day I was cleared from my leak test with no proble.

Thyroid should be taken first the in the morning with no food or other meds.

Hi I hope everything is going well for you but I was just wondering how your weight loss was going. I'm on my 2nd week and it seems to be slowing down. I'm just hoping I'm not doing anything wrong.

Thursday will be my 6wk. post-op. and I am still at a stall. It has been 2 wks since I have lost more than a pound. I weighed 217 the day of my surgery and today I weigh 203. I really need to get back to walking every morning maybe that will help me. I have just been slowing down and shopping more. So no good excuse for not exercising. I hope your doing better than me.  After surgery it took a few wks or more for me to lose anything . I felt fine pretty much on my 3 rd day. Just get your protein, fluids and eat what your suppose to it is gonna happen. Everyone told me I would melt.. Ya right!! It just takes time .. Hang tight!

Thank you so much... I feel like I'm at a stall also. I know I'm not exercising as much as I suppose but I don't want to be a failure either. If this is normal than I'm okay. I guess mentally I'm expecting to lose 100 pounds in 2 months. Well thats not going to happen. But thank you. You dont know how sad I have been for 3 days thinking I haven't been doing anything right.  I hope everything turns around for you also.
