I Keep Having the Strangest NSVs!

Hello VSG friends!  Last night, my husband and I were walking home from dinner, when I miss the curb with my right toe and slammed my head into the concrete on the sidewalk.  Hubby called the paramedics and they came within 5 minutes.  As I lay there on the sidewalk, thinking, "how the hell are they going to get me into the ambulance", it hit me, I'm not obese anymore, they won't have any issues.  They easily lifted me into the back of the ambulance, and off we went to the hospital.

I'm fine, but I needed 9 stitches over my left eye, and my eye is swollen shut.  It could have been so much worse, and would have been at 100 pounds heavier.

Wow!  I guess if you wanted to test that NSV, 9 stitches would be the lesser evil.....  Glad you're doing ok :)

Hi Neeie57,

I am so sorry you had an accident and I'm glad you are on the mends.  I could so relate to your thoughts about being lifted into the ambulance.  I used to worry that if I had an accident at home, they would never be able to rescue me, and if they did, I'd die of embarrassment.

Thank goodness for our sleeves.

It is so crazy, huh? I still feel 280 and have to remind myself I am not. I do need to get my arse back on track fast. I need exercise! Congrats on your success and there will be plenty more of those reminders of who we were and who we now are. Hope you feel better soon!

Recovery is going well.  I spent a day in bed, because I was dizzy when I got up, but am much better.  My husband and I are now on vacation in Hawaii, so I'm very lucky that the doctor said I could still go.  My eye looks terrible, but my movie star sunglasses are keeping it covered so I don't scare too many children.  It's a great place to recover.  I can actually open my eye a little bit, so Yay, my depth perception is back!

Oh my goodness Nessie! That must have been quite the fall! So glad you are recovering someplace special. Hawaii is my favorite place on earth!
