I've turned in all paperwork to be submitted to insurance yesterday. I'm just concerned I might be turn down. I've seen posting where others have been turned down on here and was wondering if any had BCBS federal ins, and if they had any issues getting approved.

Every insurance plan is different, even within the same company, so others' experiences may not apply to your own situation.

I was fortunate enough to have my surgery before all of the pre-op waiting times.  BCBS-FEP approved me within a week of submission.  As long as you've done whatever the requirements are, and you meet the criteria (BMI greater that 35 w/2 comorbidities or BMI greater than 40), you should be good.  Even if they deny, it will only be because one of the pre-op requirements isn't met or the doc didn't turn something in.

Thank you for the info and replying back so soon. Just worried I guess.

I didn't have a problem and they approved quickly.

Good luck!

I also have BCBS federal and I was approved rather quickly. Dont worry! As long as you submitted all the necessary information, you should be fine.

I was approved and had my surgery on June 1st. Don't give up.
