Update on this 'random painful attacks'

Long story short {to backtrack}, I have been having what I call 'gas pain attacks' which is similar painful attacks like gallstone attacks. Which I don't have a gallbladder - got that removed March 2013 after my VSG. I started having them after this surgery. I also had my appendix removed in Aug 2013. VSG Dec 2012. I love abdominal surgeries?

Had blood work this past Saturday because on Friday night I had a 30 second 'attack'. In Oct I had 2 full blown attacks back to back which the whole deadly time frame lasted like 4 hours. In the summer I had one in Boston. Before that was Feb. Awful.

Blood work came back clean. WTF? Doc was testing for levels in my pancreas and liver. Normal. He is stumped too.

Next step is to have an MRCP (what?) test. It's basically a super duper MRI that can look further into bile ducts etc. He wants to see if a little stone is stuck.

After that?! Depending what happens, if it is not a stone, then he said something about my insides getting twisted. The more medical term is there are adhesions. Which he then said something about having to have surgeons go in laparoscopic. Uh, excuse me while I throw a fit. One step at a time.

My Brother's Mother in law just had gallstones removed. She had her gallbladder removed years ago! She just got out of the hospital so I haven't been able to ask how it's even possible.

My gastro said that it's possible a stone got stuck or left behind in a bile duct. But who knows! It's just irritating because the attacks are so scary. Hope your MIL is doing well!

Thank you! I hope you get your pain resolved sooner rather than later. I don't know what it feels like but I can imagine that it would be scary. Hang in there!
